About this talk

The world is changing. Supply chains are getting longer and more complex, delivery times are under scrutiny, and consumers are holding the fashion industry more accountable for its decisions. So why are we still producing textiles so far away from consumer demand? Whilst many garments will still be produced offshore for the foreseeable future, we may increasingly see local producers become chosen suppliers for the fashion industry. This session will address the need to pivot from offshore to nearshore and homeshore textile production, and the impact this change will have on the industry, its efficiency, and its long-term future.
